What an awesome life despite a few hiccups.

COF was like having a major exam. The man has the power over your next stage of life. To have a COF is pretty important that wonderful little sticker has a lot of power. A tweak on the brake adjustment and an engineer to drill out old rivets on springhanger and replace with bolts ( of course had to move hydraulic pipes that’s Murphies Law). And back for a recheck. Phew got the magic sticker. Freedom.

Well Freedom as long as I park in designated places and dont Poo in the bushes ( not likely my loo is far more comfy) A $200 fine for parking in a non designated spot or $10,000 for pooping in the bushes. I guess NEW Zealander don’t like the tourists as we will lose a lot of the younger adventure tourists if this carries on.

Why not let them Park by Toilets in their Vans like they try to instead of chasing them into the bushes or they could build toilets like the Kaikoura Council who needs its tourists.

What a shame. I immigrated to NZ with my Family in 1979 and we were in a van and made to feel welcome. We thought what a fantastic country with nice people who are not ruled by revenue gathering ( fines) or so much red Tape that people can’t find their way through it.

People, real human beings seem to be forgotten in all this and I have in my travels seen many a day tripper in a car go to the bushes with a loo roll under their arm. Unusual item to take for a walk? Also it’s usually people in cars that dump the KFC and bottles etc and sometimes even all their garbage bags from home.

Maybe our politicians should live on the road and have a look before they make policies about things they have no understanding off.

Yes I am still with the Gypsytravellers even though i haven’t written for a long time.

I am in Orewa getting ready for our 4 day Easter Fair at the surf club and enjoying a bit of beach life. Last winter I had an awesome time in the south Island, catching up with old friends and touching base with the places I love like the marlborough Sounds.This season has been an interesting one with people coming and going as far as stallholders are concerned and my biggest headache has been how to pay for our advertising as some newspapers seem a little anal and don’t want to accept pre pay direct deposits. Weird!

Northland was awesome once again and even though I found the most enchanting bay near Whangarei and then had to leave as my startermotor packed a sad, the following week I went back and had a lovely time there with Sandy ( a fellow travellers) , my sidekick Serafina and we had fun meeting the locals despite my dear cats tendency to scratch strangers and get a bit territorial over our truck.

Wow its Winter Again, is time speeding up?

Its getting cold here. I’m in Tauranga right now and heading to the lovely South Island after our last Fair this weekend. That is after hopefully getting my sloppy wheel bearing sorted in Featherston.

Solar power is down, funny that when you need the electricity on the long evenings you get less sun on our panels. My lovely sidekick Serafina doesn’t care. Hunting mice doesn’t require lights.

Doing Poi with my mp3 keeps me warm and fit and seems to be a great stress release, I am looking forward to a break from the fairs and will set a challenge to myself to succeed on my own this winter. It should be fun. If I spend half as much time promoting my readings as I usually do for The fairs it should work as I love what I do and the lovely people I meet through my work and finances aside, don’t want to stop. Sitting in a paddock doing nothing doesn’t appeal.

Wow time rushes by

Its autumn again and an interesting summer. Am in lovely northland at the moment, a great place.

I have been thinking about flow. Its like doing fire spinning if you overthink and get out of the flow of the moment life gets weird. I believe the readings I do for people will become unneccssary as people return to a state of flow. Most people know what I tell them and just want confirmation ( why not we are after all human)

There may however be a little chaos in the world first. Remember not to buy into the drama its all a process and will pass. The earth has allways had patterns. Ice ages, earthquakes, droughts its not new just with more and more worldwide media we gat to see it all and it pushes emotional buttons. Try to see it all as a process and stay in tune with yourself and relax.Can you change it ? if not let it go, if yes do it. Its pretty simple really.

Funny the thoughts northland provokes.

Its been a busy time

Phew, I finally have time to write again. We had a really busy summer season and not many gaps between venues.

But it was great and I really enjoyed Wellington, trading with some new people and bringing some fun back into life. I am hard out trying to learn some new poi moves and have bought some new fire poi, its great to have some that dont go out all the time.

The website I have had running for a while is starting to work better and better, so thats a great and keeps me busy. With doing the fairs, the advertising for the fairs and my online work life is busy and fun. Being bored is not something I enjoy.

I hope everyone out there is enjoying summer as much as I am.

What on earth is up with this planet

Tsunamis, earthquakes and unseasonally cold weather. Could it be we are in a time of change. Well the ancient mayans thought so. I hope it doesnt get thet radical. The political power games played to make people afraid of Terror. The climate is changing. The recession. Gee i had really hoped all those predictions were wrong but are they?

I guess we will find out.

In the meantime life on the road is pretty good if somewhat wet. I live my house and am grateful for my fire.

Its the start of a new season

Its September and time to start again with the fairs. I have loved the winter and going bush for the last two weeks. Just peace, birds and trees and outside fires. Its been fantastic and it will be a shock to the system being around crowds again. Ive learnt some new things about computers and painted the truck. Caught up with some old friends as well which was fab.

Everywhere i look there are flowers. In the paddock next to me are calves. Yippee

Last night my sidekick Fiens the cat tried some icecream , wow a cat on sugar is a radical hyperactive cat. Leaping around the truck like crazy, never again.

I am staying in Matamata at the moment and exhibiting at another spiritual festival this weekend in Tirau. So that should be cool. I’m starting to think I’m not going to get all my jobs done before the season starts again. I have just been having so much fun and catching up with loads of people. Its been fab.
